Onsrud Cutter Manufacturing Company (OCMC) was founded in Libertyville, Illinois, in 1946. The company initially manufactured high-speed steel and carbide-tipped router tooling for woodworking applications.
1979
Onsrud Cutter company history in 1979
Onsrud Cutter Manufacturing Group and its subsidiaries were sold to an employee investment group. The company was renamed Onsrud Cutter, Inc. (OCI). Annual sales in 1979 were $6.5 million.

Onsrud Cutter plastic cutting tools
Onsrud Cutter expanded its tooling for machining plastics. What began as a modest product line grew into a broad offering of cutting tools designed specifically for plastic machining applications.

On June 2, 1996, Lake County proclaimed Onsrud Cutter Day in recognition of the company's 50 years of service to the community.
1999
LMT Group acquisition of Onsrud Cutter in 1999
Onsrud Cutter, Inc. was acquired by the LMT Group of Germany and became LMT Onsrud.
2016
LMT Onsrud 70th anniversary
LMT Onsrud celebrated its 70th anniversary, continuing a legacy of cutting tool manufacturing and application expertise that began in 1946.
